Katanga Methodist University

The school began with the seminary when it was founded in 1951 by the United Methodist Church at its Mulungwishi Mission Station in the providence of Katanga in the southern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. With the addition of the Schools of Education, Psychology, and Information Technology it rose to university level as Katanga Methodist University in 2002. With the addition of the School of Agriculture in 2010 and a PhD program in Theology in 2014 KMU is positioned to help meet the leadership training needed in the secular sector as well as providing for the pastoral needs of the Methodist Church in the Congo. The University also includes a Women’s Center and a Clinic/Medical Center.
